The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) cites school bus transportation as one of the safest forms of travel. The Senatobia Municipal School District has safety as a top priority, especially in the area of pupil transportation. We not only want our children safe while they are on our campuses, but we want our “Precious Cargo” safe while traveling on the school bus and while loading and  unloading the school bus.

The SMSD school bus drivers are all licensed with commercial drivers’ licenses with passenger and school bus endorsements and meet all of the federal regulations for drug and alcohol testing. The district conducts a review of the Motor Vehicle Reports for each driver annually. Transportation in-service is held each semester of the school year.

Although we have designed all of our bus stops with the safety of children in mind, sometimes situations occur over which we have no control. If you have concerns about a bus stop or any other concern relating to transportation, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
